The Best Beef Egg Roll In A Pan (AKA Keto Crack Slaw) Recipe
Don’t Take My Egg Rolls Away
Don’t take my egg rolls away – that almost sounds like a song, doesn’t it? I’m now wondering if Kodachrome by Paul Simon would have been an even bigger hit if he had replaced the word Kodachrome with egg rolls. “So mama don’t take my egg rolls away…” Maybe not. Let’s focus on the best keto crack slaw recipe instead!
One of the hardest things about being on a keto diet, is having to wave goodbye to junk food and instead fill your cupboards with ingredients such as almond flour, coconut oil and lots and lots of spices. But what if we told you that you’re only a few steps from making your own keto style junk food? Sound too good to be true? Well, keep on reading …
We would like to introduce you to egg rolls in a pan! If you’re desperate for Chinese takeout, but trying to stick to your diet, this is definitely the recipe for you! Although they don’t contain the fried wrappings of a typical egg roll, the flavors more than make up for that crispy pastry.
Recipe Information
All you need to do is chop up a fresh head of cabbage and bung it in the pan. You can even add some stir fry veggies if you wish! Then give it a good stir and whilst it’s cooking brown some mince. Then add either Asian or Mexican spices and when they’re both cooked, serve and enjoy!
This dish is seriously easy to make, very cheap and wonderfully versatile! Roasted shredded cabbage can even make a good rice substitute for those who don’t love cauliflower, or, cut it into long strands and slowly cook with butter to make mock noodles!
Still having junk food cravings? We didn’t think so.

Step 1Preheat oven to 400. Shred/chop/slice cabbage to the desired size. |

Step 2Coat very lightly with oil of choice (I use coconut here, I have a spray for it), you don’t want it to wet because you’re trying to imitate dry rice remember. |

Step 3Spread evenly on cookie sheet and roast for 30-40 min, turning once or twice, until edges start to brown/crisp. It takes nearly all the sulphuric smell out and leaves a dry and slightly sweet browned cabbage. Goes fantastic under slow cooker Kalua pork shoulder. ETA: I usually only roast half a head at a time so it doesn’t take too long to cook. |
