The Best Keto Elephant Ears Recipe

No, We’re Not Going To Teach You How To Cook An Elephant

If you’re not from America, you may have absolutely no idea what this recipe is about. But, hey, don’t fret! We’re not only here to teach you how to bake the best keto elephant ears recipe in the world, but we also happen to be very good at imparting very important factual wisdom to anyone that wants to listen. So, what exactly are elephant ears?

Time To Fry

Elephant ears are actually made by frying pieces of dough. They have other names, the more respectable being fry dough, fry bread, scones and pizza fritters, along with the bizarre, such as doughboys, flying sauces and beaver tails. You take your pick, but we’re going to stick with elephant ears for the rest of this article.

Anyway, even though these yummy pieces of fried dough are round, they look nothing like doughnuts, beignets or fritters. This is because they are large and relatively flat, and contain no other ingredients such as jelly or chocolate sauce. Generally, they are available at outdoor events, such as carnivals and amusement parks (hence why these places always smell so good) but they’re also very easy to make at home. They’re usually available as a warm dessert or snack, but they’re also incredibly tasty at breakfast.

Recipe & Nutritional Information

There’s one problem with all the information listed above. I’m sure you’ve guessed it. If elephant ears are full of doughy carbohydrate, why are you suggesting I eat it on a keto diet?

Well, we’re only suggesting that you eat the recipe on this page – the best keto elephant ears recipe. It specifically uses a low carb tortilla (Mama Lupe’s only contains 3 grams of carbohydrate), which means it’s completely ok to eat one of these delicious snacks. You can also use swerve and cinnamon to flavor these tasty treats, so you’re not filling your body with an unnecessary amount of sugar.

They’re also very simple to make, as all you need to do is fry the tortilla and sprinkle with the flavorings!

So, next time you’re craving some junk food, grab your low-carb tortillas and make some elephant ears! And no, that wasn’t supposed to rhyme.
